Please make it stop spinning
It is a large capacity machine.
Today I decided to wash a couple of area rugs..
Directions say to take agitator out,,, yes it is removable
So I do it and arrange small area rugs so that one is on each side of the empty agitator spot
Seems odd but I select cycle and temp.. all seems to be good.
There is a glass top and for some reason I enjoy seeing it start to fill – Then leave
My sister calls and we talk a lot… and I mean a lot. Good stuff. .. and then I hear the water pump running and running
( Yes a city girl lives in a village now,,, where the water comes from a well)
The well pump running too long….. never good
I go down and check and the washer is filling again… so I hit the stop button … I have no choice but to re-start the whole thing since the rugs are sopping wet and soapy…
I have been down this path before ….. the machine just repeats the same constant pattern of filling/ spinning and re- filling.
So I decide to do something different.. to outsmart it
I decide to use the ‘rinse’ cycle only… that seems ok – until it spins and will not stop.
The spinning has been going on for 15 minutes- so i just shut down the whole cycle…
I am happy that the little area rugs are ready to go to dryer…. but when I grab them – they are still soapy… HOW is this even possible with only one Tide Pod???
Now I think of a new trick…I put the agitator back in and do a full wash cycle again. ( No detergent) .
I select ‘quick wash’ cold water… and again stare at it filling.. ( it’s a sickness, I know)
A half hour later .. I heard the spinning… it is LOUD..but thankfully the machine is not shaking and moving around this time.
I am grateful when it stops and I achieve transfer to dryer…
Hard to decide how dry I should set the damn thing since it can get so hot it will burn the rubber grid off the bottom.
One and 1/2 hour later – they are gloriously dry.
All in all – the new ‘Smart Washer/Dryer’ wins again. The the washer and well pump are electric. Can’t wait to see that bill. Our solar panel discount won’t matter.
A side note on the dryer:
It has it’s own mind and we have to set it for ‘sanitize’ when we wash towels…. How can a dryer sanitize something??
The gas bill is high, too..
But the machines are pretty and the old ones lasted over 20 years,,, I know these 2 demons won’t.
