Oversharing

I won’t do it. I hate when ‘you’ do it. Make it stop.

I am not sure how or when oversharing became acceptable

To me it is not a verb … it is a thing

A thing that bombards me unexpectedly

It can be written.. And is especially painful in a group chat while at work.

If you choose not to respond – you seem like you don’t care (true in my case most of the time)

Ignoring these messages seems to disturb people.

I sometimes get a “separate” message to check if I am ok.

Yes. I am ok… just ignoring the fact that you eat deer meat with hot sauce and have a freezer full of it.

I do not have recipes to share….I feel queasy

But I do respond with the standard “Just busy”

No one gets the hint…..

And away from work – oversharing creeps onto text messages..

Yes I am your friend ,,but give me some kind of warning before you send me a picture of your festering rash

Yes, I am a nurse.. but please. It’s called Web MD

I stay away from Facebook as much as I can… but I do like to “visit” with cousins and friends that live far away

Damn Meta thinks I want an answer to a question and then send a long paragraph I didn’t ask for.

My response: “Leave me alone”. Meta always sends an ashamed response that I love: “Ok I will do my best “

I wish everyone would do their best to preserve their own dignity and realize that info on your shower habits is something no one really should care about. …..

But that’s another story
